Chargeback and Refund


chargeback是索回或拒付,是持卡人否认这笔交易(卡是被盗刷),这时信用卡组织是相信持卡人,就会强行的把商家收的钱返还给用户,并且还要扣商家一定的钱,作为惩罚。当然,同时也会给这个持卡人一个小小的不良记录(基本对持卡人不构成什么影响),如果这种记录多了,信用卡公司会要求持卡人作出解释。对商家/销售者来说,可能会被Stripe之类的平台警告,判定商家账号有潜在风险,甚至关闭账号。

refund 是持卡人购买商品后,因为各种可能原因会要求退款。


chargeback,购买者直接从银行取消付款,不用销售者同意,但会降低信用卡信誉。

refund退货,购买者向销售者要求退货,需要商家/销售者同意


所以,商家/销售者最好是支持refund退款,这样有问题可以在内部解决。

Chargebacks are typically initiated by the cardholder when they dispute a transaction or feel they have been the victim of fraud. Refunds, on the other hand, are usually granted by the seller voluntarily when the customer is not satisfied with the product or service they received.
