Week 2 Lessons

Day 1 – Very happy!

In today’s lesson, Yoyo Chinese 老师 (lǎo shī) – teacher – Wei Wei will show you how to say “very happy” – *correctly* – in Mandarin! As in: “I’m very happy I’m learning Chinese!

Day 2 – To know (someone)

In day one this week, Wei Wei taught you how to say “very happy” in Mandarin. Today she’ll teach you how to say “to know (someone)”. I think you can see where this is going!

Day 3 – To prepare / To join

The two words you’ll learn for Day 3 this week  are SUPER PRACTICAL and SUPER COMMON!

Most beginner Mandarin programs will just have you memorize vocabulary like this and not make any effort to explain how these words are constructed, or how to actually use them in a conversation. That’s why so many people who try to learn Chinese end up frustrated and quit.

Watch this video and see how Wei Wei takes the time to give you clear explanations for everything you are learning, so you feel confident and motivated.

Day 4 – One Impressive Sentence

Let’s put what you’ve learned the last few days together! Each of these short, daily lessons should *feel* easy, but you’re actually learning some impressive Chinese!

When you see first today’s phrase, it might seem waaaaay too advanced – but you’ve already learned most of it! After Wei Wei breaks down the vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar, you’ll feel a lot more confident about using this in a real conversation.

Day 5 – Review

It’s time for our Friday review lesson!

As you learn more and more words and phrases, it becomes a bigger challenge to remember everything you’ve learned. That’s why it’s SO important to take time to review!
